September 20th Celery Soup Road Rallye

Rallye 'Round Historic Sanford to benefit Celery Soup Performance Back by Popular Demand!

Creative Sanford, Inc. and The Sanford Herald and will sponsor a Celery Soup Road Rallye to benefit the new 2009-2010 Candidates for Celery King and Queen.

This event was so popular last year, participants are demanding it be brought back.

On Sunday, September 20 at 3 p.m. cars, drivers, navigators and backseat drivers will line up at Veteran's Park on the RiverWalk in downtown Sanford. Publisher of The Sanford Herald, Gene Kruckemyer will pass out maps and lower the checkered flag.

The rallye will take drivers and passengers on a route around the community to answer questions about places and things.

The last clue will bring participants back to one of Sanford's wonderful downtown venues where Rallye winners will be awarded prizes at a celebration party around 5 p.m. The new Celery King and Queen Candidates will be given the opportunity to make "campaign speeches".

Tickets are priced by car and are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

All proceeds will benefit the Celery Soup community performance project being developed by Creative Sanford, Inc., a 501c3 non profit organization.
